Methods For Attaching House Stone Signs

There are many different ways of fixing your beautify crafted stone sign or slate sign to your wall, depending on what type of sign you have purchased, material and design, some will work better than others. Although there are many other methods that you can use for hanging slate house signs , here are some of the more popular methods.

Screw Fixing
Screw fixing house signs, house names or numbers is the most common method used and many people would argue that it is indeed the simplest. There are two major factors that you will need to take into account though to ensure it is done correctly. The first factor is the choice of screw, which needs to be preferably stainless steel, however solid brass is also sufficient in many cases.
If you opt to use regular steel screws, you will need to be aware that they will rust very quickly, brass coated screws on the other hand will also erode eventually.
If you allow your screws to rust or corrode then the eventual outcome is likely to be that your sign crashes to the ground, which you want to avoid! The other possibility is that your sign stains. Slate and Stone will stain from rust, so you need to be aware of this to prevent it from happening.

Hidden Fixing
Hidden fixing tends to only be available on house signs that are 20mm or thicker, if you want a hidden fixing, then you should always ask your manufacturer if the sign is suitable for one before you purchase it!
The actual method itself is to hang the sign on one or two stainless steel pins that are fixed on the back of the sign at a downward angle, for signs that are smaller, usually a single pin can be used.
Many people will think that this is difficult to achieve, however all you need to do is drill a holl in the wall on a downward angle to attach the house sign, it is surprisingly secure and thankfully for many, doesn’t need to be very accurate to achieve!
